After work (which was reasonably uneventful) I went looking for phones.  Mobile phones, that is, the one I have at the moment is big, klunky and tends to turn itself off in the middle of calls.  Plus Atoning has a new one, so I want a new one too!

I went to three phone shops and they all had exactly the same thing, so after two hours of stuffing around I went home because I was so tired from work and shopping.  Oh yer, I bought half a chicken and a can of creamed corn (more on that later)

I didn’t buy a phone because there wasn’t any really good reason for me to buy one, plus if i turned up at Lysse’s with a new phone and then proceeded to tell her I had no money I may as well give some shiny new nails and a hammer (for my coffin, that would fit into the hole I had dug myself into).  Oh well, at least I looked.

Chicken and corn soup is SO easy to make.  For each person get:  Half a cooked chicken, one can of creamed corn.  You also need gas, a pot, water, a can opener and one of those flavour sachets from a 2 minute noodle pack (preferably a chicken one).  Right, put the flavouring into the pot, open the can with the can opener (you can just hit it with a hammer I suppose, but you’ll have to clean up afterwards) and put the yellow goo into the pot.  Now rip the chicken apart with your (freshly washed) hands, avoid getting any on the walls, pull the chicken meat apart into small bits, don’t include bones.  Put the pile of chicken into the pot with the corn.  Add some water, say, half a can (you might have to pull the can out of the bin at this stage).  Stir (oops, you need a spoon as well) in all the stuff in the pot, gently!  Don’t blend it just yet.  Then take your (sorry) barmixer/vitamiser/ mobile blender and puree the mixture, have fun, but not so much that you end up with nothing in the pot.  Then heat SLOWLY until it boils a bit.  Then I just server it up, with some bread and it’s great!  This one doesn’t store too well though, not sure why, it just goes chunky/lumpy in the fridge, not to worry though, there usually isn’t any left over when I’m around!
