A slack day?

Went into work early today.  Good thing I did too, because I am qualified to press the reset button on the office server machine (the win98 one).  You guessed it, the server was down and the office gerbils were in a panic.  So I pressed the big button in the sky and lo and behold! the server was fixed.  Cool, I’m a legend.

The faeries have visited the office!  There are two shiny new systems sitting on the work table, requiring some final touches, of course, but otherwise finished.  <dances>  Why the hell did I come in early then?  Of yeah, to press reset.

Finished off the two systems and started to build another.  Halfway through I discovered (well, remembered) that the Pentium ][ 350Mhz CPU wouldn’t work in the (not 100Mhz bus) mainboard.  Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.  Rang Atoning and he too had figured that one out!  I’ll just leave the system built and rip out its heart… I mean CPU <grin>.

Ran out of things to do, while waiting for Atoning and Hypatia to turn up, so I installed a network card in the office machine and put ‘us’ on the office LAN.  That was 15 minutes well spent, now what am I going to do?  Can you say, “FreeCell”?

When the Grand Champion of FreeCell finally got bored out of his brain, he waited around doing nothing much.  And then the rest of the crew arrived.  YAY!  Now things will get interesting again.

Work.  Work. Work.  Install.  Install.  Install.  Play.  Work.  Rest.  (I am NOT a child of the Mars confectionery machine)

Another chicken garlic round things with vegies dinner tonight.  This time with pepper sauce, instead of the roast chicken sauce I had last night.  Not bad actually, I could probably just eat a plate of vegies with pepper sauce now.  I MUST be coming down with something, I’m voluntarily eating more and more vegies as time progresses.
