Decided to DO something today. Nothing too physical, mind you, but definately something tangible. So I have spent most of the day designing glyphs and playing with web pages.
SO! It’s time for you guys to do some downloading of cumbersome graphics that I have spent ages making. First, though, I’ll tell you what you are going to look at (’cos you ARE going to look at this, aren’t you!).
I have a tattoo. It’s huge. It covers my head and upper body with it’s swirling designs. HA! Bet you didn’t think I had one of those did you? Well, I do and it’s small (the head thing is there for the small minded people who think anyone with a tattoo belongs to a bikie gang, takes loads of drugs and generally is a menace to society. Which is crap, I’d like to point out). Right, so I have a tattoo, well I have always wanted to put it on my computer, but I could never draw it well enough for me to be happy with the result. NO MORE!
I drew this with MS Paint. Yer, amazing isn’t it, all these other packages that do everything under the sun, except let you draw circles, arcs and bendy lines. Righto, the design was pretty simple, I just had to be happy with the starting omega and everything seemed to fall into place after that. (ooooer I’m touch typing!) So once I had the initial omega the rest was pretty simple (reasonably). I did the arms? spikes? sticky-out bits using circles and arcs and I must say the resulting glyph looks better than the real thing! I may have to get re-inked! When I win the lotto with a ticket that I find on the ground.
So, for those of us still reading and not looking, I put the smaller, plain version, as the front page for my business. Then I started playing with chrome and neon glow filter effects (from Adobe Photoshop) over the small one, to get this. Then I did the same thing to the original one, which is HUGE, and it came out different, but still reasonable. I think the best one is the little blue one, though. If there are any metal workers out there, how much to make the glyph?
Ok, enough plugging of my brilliant artistic talents <cough>. After this day of creativity, I went to see It’s a bug’s life again. It was still quite good, even though I knew what was going to happen, I saw a bunch of other things that I missed previously. Plus the out takes were different the second time around. Which was a bonus.
Then I was stood up for dinner (by Mum) because I still can’t get days and dates to coincide with each other. So I went to dinner at Turtle Girl’s place and met her new (boy) friend. She hasn’t actually said that he is, but he is; you know, there’s that look on her face, the extra happy smile that appears for no reason… Hehe it’s good to see Turtle Girl happy again. I guess I’ll have to think of a name for The Unknown Soldier, ‘cos I think he’s going to feature every now and again. Perhaps he’ll be an extra? (and we all know what happens to extras, don’t we Mr. Spock?)
Dinner was (after all that gossip) stir fried beef and vegies. Damn that girl can cook! Much better than I can!
